set timing

I forgot several kick stand pads until I attached a short length of cord to then that has a loop on the free end.

At a stop, I can hold the loop and drop the pad to the ground  and dangle it it into place. Once under the kickstand, I put the loop over the left hand grip.

That way, when I go to ride off, the cord is in the way as a reminder.

Bright colored is best, I was using Flour-O Orange shotline cord, but just got tired of wrapping it around my plate. Replacement plate is about $.99 at HomeDepot/Lowes/Menards Some of the additions people have put on kickstands I have seen just look... Ummmm Dorky, not to mention a washer still is going to sink in sand, my 4x4 plate does somewhat but not like a washer would do. Simple is good, grab a flatrock, large stick whatever is laying around, mostly when its muddy so my plate does not get covered in muck and then put back in handlebar pouch. Dooden A15 Green Ape

Warning!!! Don't run the engine with the cap off of the timing mark observation port unless you want a 10W-40 'facial' (voice of experience). The timing works or it doesn't. The CDI unit is $250+ if that is fried. Don R100, A6F

On a car you have the distributor and compression stroke synchronized.
