bike packable tents and camping gear

I carry a Woodsman's Pal and noboy ever questioned it since it fits in the pannier. Even if it was exposed it would probably be ok if the other camping gear was visible. The Woodsman pal is sort of a Machette, hatchet and shovel combo thing.
