I have a Wolfman Explorer (now called the Rainier) tank bag, and Wolfman Tank Panniers. The saddlebags are Ortlieb Dry Saddlebags and above them are a tent in it's own bag and a Dry Duffel purchased at Sierra Trading Post. It holds my sleeping bag and air mattress. I also have a Kermit chair on top of the tent and duffel. The tent is about 20 years old and built for serious mountaineering by North Face. I bought it in Germany in the early 80s when I was doing a lot of stuff in the Alps. I've replaced it finally with a Eureka 3XTA or something like that. I don't remember the name exactly. I think Rev Maaatin has the same tent. It is not a four season tent but is easy up and down and has lots of room. I'm now also using a sleeping bag by Wiggys. A quick google search for Wiggys will get you to the web site. They're located in CO. Hope this is helpful. And, spring is upon us, with summer soon to follow. Well, I hope, anyway.I am looking at some "backpacking" tents, that would be bike-packable on the KLR. I am specifically looking for a 2-3 person (read 2 people and a small amount of gear) size. Naturally, I also need to carry other things, such as camp stoves, sleeping bag, food/drink, etc., so size/weight is an issue. I'm sort of planning my "kit" now, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions. ..... perhaps examples of the gear they use, or even photos of how you packed your bike. I have a 2009, so the rack is a bit larger than the older versions. I have the factory tail bag, but I am also considering options specifically for camping; also, I will have my wife with me, so I can't use that seat space..... Thanks in advance for suggestions, etc. Chuck F. NE PA . ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ ___ Nutrition Improve your career health. Click now to study nutrition!
