http://www.hylomarblue.com/FAQ.htm It'll probably answer your questions about how it works and what situations it will work in. Short answer is Hylomar doesn't harden, seals to about 0.001" imperfections, wipes off easily after use (disassembly), doesn't clog oil passages and has a reasonable working time. Lots of other sealants do some or most of those things too. But Hylomar really works well at all of them. Best,
