torque peak
This graph came from a test in Motorcyclist. I was surprised to see that the peak toque on the KLR comes at 2,500 rpm's, and at that rpm, the hp is about 12. With my big body on the KLR, it does not like being below 3,000 rpm's. If I was to roll on the throttle at 2,500 rpm's in anything above 3rd gear, there would indeed be strong complaints from the KLR. Also note the dramatic drop in torque from 2,500 to 3,000 rpm's. If that drop could be leveled out, the KLR would have considerably better low end grunt. You guys under 200 lbs probably don't even notice, but I bet it would have much better roll on grunt if that torque drop wasn't there. I am not trying to start a thread on torque vs horsepower, I just thought it was interesting that the torque peak was so low, on a bike that preferred to be closer to 4,000 rpm. Rick A17

On ebay there was a zx-14 that had a nitrous system, cuz a zx-14 with a turbocharger on it just isn't fast enough.
