I believe the bicycle manufacturer, Cannondale made a reverse motor like this for the motocross bike they built. There were also a couple a couple roadrace 2 stroke twins with the cylinders reversed but I believe the problem with these was where to put the expansion chambers. It will definitely be interesting to see if there is any advantage to the design or is it just another gimmic.....Have a great day.....Greg

The new yamaha YZ450F in Cycle World. James Stewart will kick butt on it (if he don't crash). Criswell

Yep I forgot to mention Cannondale. I really liked their approach and thinking........but probably didn't have the buckaroos to compete succesfully against the big four Japanese and to a lesser extinct the KTM's and other European builders. And how bout Harley canning Eric Buell? Go figure. I guess they wanna do what they always have .........but it would be nice if an American manufacturer made a modren bike and a real dirt type bike. I am gonna go burn my doo rag in protest (jess kidding). I wouldn't be caught dead in a doo rag......... humor, humor. If you gotta wear a rag, put a frigging full face over it..........fer God Sakes.  Criswell Sent from my iPhone

I don't think it was about having the cash. I knew a guy who was an engineer for them back when I travelled in the vintage SAAB circle.  He hated the place and said the company was run by morons. In his opinion, Cannondale deserved to fail.

Mark  I don't think it is fair to call the management morons, I doubt very much they were, just ask them... :-) From: Tengai Mark Van Horn To: "roncriswell@..."
