http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axJ1XJdI0yg I wouldn't have believed you could hang a wheelie on a KLR with 3 guys on it unless I had seen it with my own eyes. Thanks CA Stu A13

gas cap stuck (part 3)

Post by Bill » Wed Nov 25, 2009 11:47 pm

FWIW I've been a member of this list for 7+ years. I've been a rabid poster, and I've been a lurker. So... A big THANK YOU to John Biccum for selling me a gas cap for a lot less than I could have found one anywhere else. He put the gas cap in the mail about 10 hours before I put the money order in the mail. There are good people on this list, and we should not forget that. For those who care... the old cap came off in about 45 seconds. Break the plastic, unscrew the hinge screws, and the cap comes off. At least I'm not throwing the tank away. The old cap was corroded, and no amount of penetrating oil would have broke it free. I was able to free the old lock to where it turned to about the 2 o'clock position. It wasn't until I got the new cap that I remembered that the lock had to go to at least the 3 o'clock position to open. I'll probably get a new petcock. I don't know if the original can be rebuilt. As for other things going on... I remember a time before Fred was the moderator for this list. I also remember a spin-off list for those of us who liked to cuss as much on line as we did in the garage. I like what Fred has done. As for TK's posts, I'm trying to decide if they are more Ayn Rand (Atlas Shrugged) or George Orwell (Animal Farm). This list has always, at least in my limited experience, been entertaining as well as informative. I'm still trying to figure out who has the better bait, Stu with his exhaust, or TK with his rant. Fish or cut bait, fish or cut bait... Happy Thanksgiving everyone Bill
