Suggest you cut the front panel of the 'box' off the frame. Grind away the crappy nuts and then weld the highest grade 10mm nuts you can get (and, YES, they WILL change grade depending on how much heat gets into them...), then re-weld the panels back, drill the footpegs to match, and then install them with appropriate length allen-head socket 10mm capscrews. NOW you'll be able to tighten them properly. Cheers, Ed
