"did the do" report
Did it. All on my own, too, using the Leftcoastie's instruction page. (sine qua non).
The worst bit seems to be getting the torsion spring to hook on.
I finally got it after I notched an old screwdriver on the bench grinder
to make a tool to push it with.
I started it up, and lo and behold, the clatter seems to be gone !
Can't ride today, because of the nor'easter, tho, watched the Pats!
The Old welded dohickey was intact, but the spring was literally useless.
I have religiously applied the adjustment routine, every other oil change for 4 years.
With the loosening and the banging with a rubber mallet, etc.
However, my CSI trained analysis of the old do showed it hadn''t moved ~at all~ ever !
One thing I would add a step #21 : when you're finished, crack an appropriate libation and toast yerself.
and also ....what did YOU do with your old do?
Purring like a KLRiitten...
