thrillcraft - the environmental consequences of motorized recrea

Post by Jeff Khoury » Mon Sep 28, 2009 2:20 pm

I apologize if I have offended thee with my sexism and distaste for over-regulation. It is exactly the type of thought in that website that closes many miles of trails every year. If it were up to the producers of that site, all you could do on public land is bird-watch... which is fine if that's what YOU wanna do. Somewhere these people have lost sight of the whole "Live and Let Live" notion that makes this a great place to be. The thought was relevant and on-topic... I even ceded a valid point made by the site about the carving of unapproved trails. Seriously... sexism? Over-use of the terms sexism, racism, classism, etc. cheapens the label when it is actually warranted. If you think my opinion-related posts are too much of a negative compared to the technical advice I contribute, please feel free to filter my posts directly to the trash. -Jeff Khoury

And sexist. Isn't a forum like this one a haven from folks calling folks Nazis? I'll bet there are other forums where that sort of name-calling is welcome and encouraged. Can't we go back to talking about murdered-out motorsickles ridden 20,000mi/month by helmetless guys in fake Oakleys and flip-flops? That there was some VALUABLE discourse.... --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com , Jeff Khoury wrote: > > I love how they coin a new word then use it over and over and over... ad infinitum. I work at a major university and I run into these enviro-nazi types all the time. They scream tolerance until your idea of enjoyment of a resource conflicts with theirs. There are a couple of valid points, such as people not sticking to designated trails, but this stuff is already illegal. Simple enforcement of existing regulations would be enough to solve the problem. > > Just like smoking laws... gun laws... dog laws... They're trying to regulate anything masculine out of existance.
