$1.89 carb vent filter

Was in San Francisco yesterday and like a bee to honey was drawn towards the line of bikes parking along the street. Wanted to see what the "city" riders where on. Well, surprise of my life (and my wife's) were the beautiful girls riding scooters in SF! I mean high heals and all. Took a couple elbows but I'm telln' ya. It was worth the trip. So, now she's whispering "Vespa" in my ear all the time. What have I done? PS - next time I'm taken' a camera. You won't believe it. Would give the umbrella girls at USGP races a run for the money.

I've been to San Francisco a few times. Are you sure they were girls?

I am not normally a scooter guy (even though I destroyed a Vespa in 18 months as a kid - great fun by the way). After traveling to European cities numerous times and recently to NYC, for really crowded inner cities such as NYC, Paris, or Barcelona, they are the perfect vehicle for there. L.A. or Dallas ...... For girls on wheels, I'll take the bicycle riders of Copenhagen for scenic value. My own gal rides like the wind on her K75s, R80ST and DR350ES. She looks good on all of 'em, so I'll take that, too.

If the float and/or float needle sticks open, the vent tube is where the extra gas goes before running into the intake track of the engine. How do I know this, you may ask? Yeah! I had done the T mod and fortunately the original lower section was still stock and emptied out under the rear suspension dog bone as planed. A surprise and real mess but at least no fire :-0 BTW, the black elbow into the carb is the fuel inlet, the grey one goes to the vent as noted in an earlier post. Thx for that info. Don M
