need air filter frame

Post by oldwing@cox.net » Wed Aug 26, 2009 5:38 am

I am going from a K & N airfilter to a UNI filter and need the stock frame that holds the foam air filter. There are likely hundreds of these sitting in garages and sheds where people have gone to the K & N which does not require them. If anybody has one they would part with that will fit an A16, please let me know the cost. Thanks. -- Bill Lewis Roanoke, Virginia Professor of Motorcycleology 2004 R1150RT For Sale 1990 R100RT 2002 KLR 1978 Oldwing w/Friendship 1

Mr. Bill, Hope you get a response. Alas, not many are saved--or so it seems when I changed back to the OEM frame and NoToil system--for my new to me 98KLR650 last May. About 4 days after I requested one ordered, it was at the local Kawi dealer sitting on the parts shelf; at Peterson Motors, Pierre, SD, I have my own shelf space titled "Martin". as part of plan "B' If you order one today, it will be here very soon. $14-17 I think. It was only last year...I don't 'save' many details like that in the brain-housing-group anymore. revmaaatin. K&N = Knot 4 Normal Conditions of South Dakota

good deal on shock

I would have bought it myself but I just had my F1 shock rebuilt by Noleen last month and should be ok for another 4 or 5 years.

I figured for that price I can get an upgraded shock and sell my stock one and just about break even...Thanx for the heads up on this one and I'll let you know how it pans out. > > > > Mike Huber > > 06 Fully Farkled Frog > > > > > > > To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com > From: Krgrife@... > Date: Thu, 27 Aug 2009 16:35:39 +0000 > Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Good deal on shock > > > > > > Newly listed on Ebay is an "aftermarket shock for KLR650." From the photo it is clearly the F1 shock as used on the military bikes. Depending on when it was made the spring is either a 400 or 440#. I have used this shock for several years and like it. New retail, it is now sold by Noleen, is $500 and the "buy it now" on ebay is $150. Looks like new in the photos and says it came off a bike with very low miles. I have no connection to the seller. > Kurt > > > > > > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] >
