replacement steering stem bearings info
Glenn,
I had to go to the shop to do a quick threading project for a friend. So
I picked up the old stock bearing races and here is the info on them.
Lower bearing: HR 320/28XJ Japan A NSK
Upper bearing: 32005JR Japan KOYO HI-CAP
This is the info from the new All Balls bearings.
Lower bearing: LT-320/28XJHL D0606-1648-14 Korea KBC
Upper bearing: 32005XJ D0705-1004-04 Korea KBC
And if you only need the lower bearing you can also get them at NAPA as
NAPA part number BR32. Last one I got was last year for about $16 and we
had to wait overnight for it.
NAPA Lower bearing: HR 320/28XJ NDK Japan A (NAPA Part BR32)
Before folks get bent out of shape because the All Balls bearings are
made in Korea... take a look at the application and recognize they'll
have as good a chance of working as any. I probably wouldn't install
them in an engine or transmission with high speed and critical clearance
requirements but I think they'll be fine for the steering and suspension.
Heck the stock NSK lower bearing was the one that went bad and only
lasted 27,000+ smiles on my bike. : )
Hope you find this helpful.
Best,
