~~If'n it were mine doing what has been described...I'd remove the fuel draining it out of the tank and get rid of it. The Scotsman in me would dump that fuel in one of my trucks that has more fuel and could deal with a poor fuel problem w/o experiencing any running problems like you are having here So get rid of that fuel, drain the tank, add fresh fuel then see what happens. you could have gotten a load of crap gas. BTDT Knock on wood, I have about 7 K miles on my 08' and absolutely no running problems ever, yet=:-) Jake Reddick Fla.

What has me thinking, is the Fuel supply. use a flashlight and look inside your tank, make sure no debri is in there that may clog the fuel shut off valve. second, have you added any aftermarket parts, or have you removed any front shrouds, headlamp support brackets etc. if you have, make sure no wires were pinched on install. double check harness. for no damage/short. you removed the carb bowl, did you also remove the slide ? if you have, check that the diagram is installed properly. from your description, it sounds like no fuel, or like you just turned the key off. suddenly just dies. when it restarts,,,, what are you doing? you did not explain your ( 5 minutes of fiddling ) once she starts and stays running, how is the performance ? > > good luck > -Mike- > > > ----- Forwarded Message ---- > From: getbent_net > To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Thursday, April 16, 2009 7:25:10 AM > Subject: [DSN_KLR650] 08 3600 Miles, Stall then won't start, running out of ideas. > > > > > > Afternoon all, I have a thread on this issue on klr650.net as well but I thought I would ask here as well. > > The other day I had the bike out to work, no problems. No problems this year at all in fact. So far I have 400 some miles on the bike this season. > > While coasting to a stop light the bike sputtered and died. I hear there are mystic sages that can read a Bike's future by the color of the spark plug: > > http://www.getbent net/klr650/ sparkplug. jpg > > --Since the tank was off I also rotated the carb and cleaned the jets. > Took a picture of that as well.
