gas tank tube.

Post by Rick McCauley » Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:19 am

On the back of the gas tank that is covered by the seat, there is a metal tube. I assume there should be a hose attached to this going somewhere. I am the original owner, so if there should be a hose on it, the dealership must have forgot to put it on. Where would this hose go. Rick A17 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

So is it just a spill hose of some sort? I have never seen any signs of escaped fluid under the seat. It also seems strange that anything, attached to a gas tank, is vented to the atmosphere. Is the EPA aware of this !! ;- ) Rick A17, 1975 CB360

There is probably a wire guide on the right front side of the swing arm to collect a couple of different hoses. If you have a non-Cahlyfornia model, one metal tube at the back of the tank, the metal tube is for the fuel tank breather hose. On my '03 bike the seat was pressing against the hose and the hose split and came loose. Look at or below the frame bracket with the round hole and you should find the black hose. The hose normally goes thru the round hole and connects to the metal tube at the back of the tank. Alan
