My KLR w/IMS has gone down a few times with IMS, but no crash guards as such. No problem. The IMS tank appears to spread the weight around so that no one spot on the radiator or the stock reservoir loop gets a big whack. I don't even run those little tab mounts on the front. I wouldn't expect that it'd take a big crash like at 30mph, but for typical low- speed tipovers that will cause issues with a stock KLR it does fine.> As a follow-up to the recent excellent threads about crash guards, I > have a question, "I was told that with an IMS tank, it is not > necessary to have crash guards because the IMS tank would suffice". > Do you agree with that?

silence tonight and tomorrow
Listers - In respect to the sudden passing of our brother Cary Aspy,
I will not be posting to the board tonight or all day tomorrow.
Losing one of our own weighs heavy on our heads and hearts. I am
going to take the time to reflect on this tragedy and how precious
life and friendships are. My flag flies at half mast and head hangs
low.
Respectfully,
Brian
