Jeff, and interested others,
I think it was 'Tenegia' (sp?) Mark Van Horne of PA fame that
suggested opening up the brake pad backing plate holes that the brake-
pins slide on--opening them up 1/32 of an inch to preclude binding
and poor return characteristics on the galfer brand pads--which I
would imagine would be good advice for any brand as well.
I read this after we had replaced the OEM pads with the Galfer rear
brakes some time ago, and I notice, the brakes are wearing unevenly--
as did the last set. I believe it it is the outside pad, not the
piston side that wears faster--perhaps indicating that the outside
pad is not returning smoothly, thus dragging more, shrug, --or could
it be, that is 'just the way it is'. shrug.
