Although the Stebel Natilus (compressed air) horn is super loud, I
didn't want to fabricate a new bracket, put in a separate 30A
circuit, or have much down time, so I went with the Stebel Magnum (TM-
80) @ 136 decibles. From my BMW experiences, a dual conventional
horn system (hi / lo frequency) is loud enough to get everyone's
attention. I bought this hi / lo system off of eBay for $23 + $10
S/H. I tested each horn separately and decided that the lo frequency
unit was the louder one and loud enough for me. I removed the OEM
squeaker and used a supplied mounting bar to mount the new horn from
a double set of threaded holes along the outside edge of the frame
surrounding the radiator overflow reservoir. This location allowed
me to use the same electric connectors (just long enough) and I had
good clearance from the overflow reservoir and the gas tank but the
horn is still protected from road-spray. I don't know what the
amperage is but for a quick beep-beep, this setup seems adequate and
a lot louder than the OEM unit.
My suggestion is to only buy a lo frequency conventional horn, like
the TM-80, and quickly (1 hr) and cheaply (~$20) get back on the road.

Exactly right. Except for his annual Kansas help out this is Fred s first
real vacation in a long time. He ll be back on September 22; at that point
my time as substitute teacher moderator will end. So far-knock on wood-
class behavior has been tolerable.
