my 08 is the best medicine

My 08 is the GREAT!!! Green of course. Since I have had it I have had no problems (except my bad habit of dropping it at a stand still). Mine does not burn oil, lose turn signals... or any of the other nightmares I have heard about. Just to give you an idea I am a 300lb guy and usually carry 50 to 75lbs of "stuff", some would call crap, with me. I also have large aluminum boxes on mine for cargo. I usually run highway or back roads with an occasional dirt road. I keep my speed moderate and the bike has never been over 70mph. On the other hand my brother bought a blue 08 a couple months after I did... HE RODE IT HARD FROM THE START... it does not have 400 miles on it yet and has been above 80mph. Doug is less than 180lbs... and does not carry anything with him. He is a much better rider than I and takes the bike places I would not think of going. BUT!!! HIS HAS USED over a quart of oil in it's first 300 miles. AND he claims that the bike runs hot at high speed. Well... that is the story of 2 2008 KLR's... PS... I have been using mine to commute to medical appointments 20 miles each way on the freeway and run 65 to 70... overall my fuel economy is 54-55MPG... I love this bike... the bro is only getting mid 40's and is slightly disappointed. Michael
