<><><><><><><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><><><><><><> Tumu, Man, that is well said! I once heard about a guy going into a town and asking a local what kind of folks lived there. The local asked him what kind of folks were where he came from. The guy responded how they were rude, obnoxious and ignorant. The local told him that's pretty much what he'd find in this town too. A day or two later another guy came into the town and asked the same local about the folks that lived there. Again the local asked what kind of folks were where he came from. The guy responded that they were great people, welcoming, open minded, generous and caring. The local then told him that's pretty much what he'd find the this town too. I suppose this idea might be appropriate over a large spectrum of attitudes and situations. Thanks for making my day with your KLR comment. That's a classic. Really speaks to an aspect of human nature, eh!
Reminds me of a common theme that turns up in travel tales, particularly
solo motorcyclists:
"You're not going *there* are you? They're murderers, thieves, and rapists."
So the motorcyclist goes there, and the people there say,
"You came from that place? It's amazing you survived. They're murderers,
thieves, and rapists."
