I picked up a 2005.5 KTM 950 Adventure S the day after Christmas, but I also still have my KLR. Good thing, too. So far, one of the carb boots failed and caused it to run like poop until I figured out what it was, the clutch slave cylinder failed 150+ miles from home, the front wheel was square, the seat is like a 2 by four, I got a ticket on it the first day I rode it to work, it puked coolant all over my garage floor the first day I rode it in 100 degree weather, and I have replaced both tires and a set of sprockets and the chain. When it runs right it's an awesome machine, can throw Biblical scaled roost and handles like a dream, but it is definitely not as hardy as the KLR. Needs maintenance and attention constantly. If you ignore your KLR and just put gas in it and ride it everywhere, it gets louder and eventually starts to lose power. If you don't rigorously maintain your KTM, it'll break. That said, I'm going on a 2000+ mile trip next week on the KTM. Thansk CA Stu A13 PS I'm burning white sage and sacrificing chickens before I leave, just in case.> Geez, what a bummer, goin orange & all that.
