My new tire has a little triangular mark molded on the sidewall. I've
heard this has something to do with balance. Is this mark supposed to
be mounted nest to the stem, opposite the stem, or does this mark have
nothing to do with balance?

ez just idle mixture screw

Mine looks like what he s selling. I got it from an outfit in Arizona. Some thoughts: Unlike the item it replaces this screw doesn t seat all the way; if you turn it in as far as you can the engine will still run. Therefore you can t reproduce the setting you like by simply turning it out say 2 1/2 turns like you had the original. You need to find the optimal setting using the sweet spot method. Turn it in till the RPMs decrease; note where that is from all the way in say 1/4 turn out from seated. ( In my case the RPMs only went down when the screw was almost seated. ) Next turn it out until the RPMs decrease and note that place too say 3 3/4 out from seated. The sweet spot is half way between the noted locations. In my example halfway between 1/4 and 3 3/4 would be 2 full turns from seated. ( Hopefully I m counting right ) Anyway I got this gizmo so I could adjust the mixture when I go to sea level from my home at 6000 feet but I find I rarely bother. Oh yeah... you can burn your hand making these adjustments; use a leather glove.
