ammo box follow - up
Those look nice, but I wonder how sturdy they are? And would they survive a
tip-over, would they survive a fall at 15-20mph?

Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Ammo box follow - up
Recently I posted the lista's about ammo box saddlebags & got some really
good feedback.....Thanks.After researching the idea even more I decided to
not do the genuine ammo boxes (too heavy) but am really considering the
Mermite food container boxes. My problem here is they are not found
locally, you don't really know the condition of them through the
mail, shipping is high and after looking at the Adventure rider posts it
appears that a lot of work goes into them to get them ready. After several
"ammo box" or related internet searches I tried "dry box" in the search &
found MTM brand dry cases. They are similar to Ammo boxes but are
plastic.They latch similarly,have an o-ring seal,holes for padlocks to
lock.Different colors available including Olive green. Some things that make
them different are that they have a storage compartment on top of lid for
easy access to frequently used small items. They also have a removable tray
inside the box.Shoulder strap for carrying the boxes and some of them have
padded lids that is used as a seat.I would like to know if anybody has used
these boxes & if so do they work good? P.S. very affordable.
