Not all dealers are the same in terms of quality. Where are you?

Definitely want to have the valves adjusted, check all hoses for
cracks, change out all the fluids (oil, coolant, fork/shock oil, brake
fluid, turn signal fluid), check the brake pads and maybe even the
rotors ?(has anyone worn out a stock rotor on a KLR?), check the rims
and adjust spoke tension, clean or replace the air filter, and check
tire pressure and condition.
Then refill the tank and forget about it for a while...
