<><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><> Bob, Welcome! I've got the factory service manuals (yup, plural as in two) and a Clymers. If I was going to own only one I'd get the Clymers without hesitation. Best price I recall is on www.amazon.com . I think if you also bought a DeLorme Atlas and Gazetteer for your normal riding area you'd qualify for free shipping. That's usually on orders over $25 with the stuff coming from Amazon. The Clymer's will help you keep your KLR operational and the Gazetteer will help you find fun places to ride it. The recall was for the bolts holding the muffler to the subframe. Remove the right side panel and you'll see them. Just good and snug is all you need. I have mine anti-seized as I want to be able to remove them easily. Also might be worth removing the rear master cylinder brake reservoir cover (two phillip head bolts) and then checking the muffler clamp bolt behind there. That's a known area for getting loose on some bikes and allowing the escaping exhaust gasses to burn a hole in the bottom of the air box.
