I have a eTrex Legend GPS (cheapest one) that I'll keep turned on while I do any week long / weekend / day long treks on either of my bikes: '81 BMW R100 or the '06 KLR 650. Every year, I bring all of the trip data together to make one map. I can see why they say almost all accidents occur close to home. The trip into Ohio was for the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days event at the Mid-Ohio race course. Whilly G was there this year for the 50th anniversary of the Sportster. I don't really keep track of the miles but it seems about 3K on the BMW (road only) and 4K on the KLR which gets the "dirt road miles" in northern PA when riding with my one buddy that has a '05 XR650L or another one with the BMW F650GS.
