Eric I have seen Elden Carl's tool for this. I just purchased a spare set
of wheels and I am going to disassemble these and change the rims and
spokes. Elden showed me the tool to facilitate the bearing removal as I
intend to paint the hubs while apart. The tool inserts from the opposite
side and has a shoulder and an internal collet so that the bearing is driven
out square to the hub center, such removal keeps aluminum material from
inside the machined area of the hub from being galled or distorted. Sloppy
bearing fit results if not careful. I have not used this tool yet. Elden
mentioned that this was not one of those areas on the bike ok to mistreat
with improper tools. Put the big rock down Grog, open a beer and take it to
the shop tomorrow, its probably dark there now anyway

My sister lives not far from you in Lawerenceville. Ever shop at Harry's
Ranch Market? I'm a big fan.
