Zack, Only upgrades I've done so far are 16T sprocket and Cobra exhaust,set me back $300.00 cdn. As to maintaining highway speeds,I'm 6'2" 220 lbs and i've run my 93' at 120kph(75mph) for hours,no problem. With the new sprocket I'm only turning 4500 at that speed. I don't do much touring but many of the other listers do apparently without any problem. The KLR is a great choice,good luck.
