I use the STP oil additive you mentioned. I accidentally added more than the
recommended 10% STP to the Castrol 20-50W and my engine started running
hot.Changed the oil again, omitting the STP. Volla, engine ran cooler. So
don't use too much STP with the 20-50W .FWIW

OK, Here's an oil observation for you. My last oil change I selected what I thought was the best oil I could buy: Mobil 1 20/50W Motorcycle "V-Twin" oil, at $10.50 per quart. Well, at least it isn't leaking out of my countershaft sprocket seal, like the Silkolene Synthetic Racing oil did. But, I do declare that my clutch has become very grabby. I think I'll go back to good old Bel-Ray EXL. Texas Tommy A13, 20K> John opening a can of oil additive worms. > A-7 16K

Does anyone know if Dual-Star or Fred or any other source offers a
spare-fastener for the KLR type of package?
My local dealers seem to think it's too much of a pain in the ass to get me
a bolt or two when I notice one missing (think I finally found all the empty
holes after 4 months with the beast) and tend to give me one of those "this
oughta work for ya" bolts that then will require extra tools if I take off
for a few days or more. I'd like to get a spares stash going so I don't have
to "bother" my dealers anymore.
